Legends on Disc presents a collection of fights from SONNY LISTON.  Charles L Sonny Liston was a formidable boxer who became world Heavyweight Champion in 1962 by knocking out Floyd Patterson in the first round.  After a poor childhood and a mis-spent youth Liston was discovered by a Roman Catholic Priest  and during a brief amateur career that spanned less than a year he won several tournaments including Golden Gloves.  Liston made his professional debut in September 1953 and after a turbulent early career got to meet a young Cassius Clay in February 1964 where Liston lost his title when he quit before the start of the 7th round, claiming he had injured his shoulder. Some believed the fight was fixed, and doubted that Liston's shoulder injury was real. Others felt that Liston was a beaten man that night and simply lost the will to continue.  Liston's collection of 13 fights is exhibited over 3 discs.
