Boxing Timers, Clocks & Scales
A boxing timer runs every session in a gym, and a set of scales decides whether a fighter makes weight, so both need to be accurate and built to survive a busy club. This range covers 32 products: wall-mounted round clocks and digital gym timers from Carbon Claw, Tuf Wear and Bytomic, handheld interval timers for circuits and pad work, and medical-grade floor and column scales from Seca Healthcare. Prices start from £9.99 for a basic timer.
Which boxing timer suits your gym?
A round timer counts down a fixed work period, sounds a bell, then runs a rest period before starting again. Boxing rounds are two or three minutes with a one-minute rest, so look for a timer that lets you set both intervals and a warning signal for the last ten seconds. Wall-mounted digital ring timers from Carbon Claw and Tuf Wear are loud enough to cut through a full gym and are the standard choice for clubs. Compact fitness timers from Bytomic suit a garage gym, a personal trainer's kit bag or circuits at home, and a simple stopwatch is enough for a coach timing skipping rounds or runs. Scales for making weight
If you compete, the number on your club scales needs to match the number at the official weigh-in. Seca Healthcare scales are used in clinics and hospitals, and the same digital flat scales, column scales and wireless models sit in serious boxing gyms for exactly that reason. Flat digital scales like the Seca 803 and 813 are accurate, quick and easy to store. Column scales with a height rod are what most sanctioning bodies use at weigh-ins, and a club that runs its own shows should have one. Bluetooth-enabled Seca scales let a coach log weights across a squad without a notebook. See the full weighing scales range for detail on capacity and graduations.
Kitting out a boxing club
A wall timer, a set of scales and a clock are the three fixtures every new club buys first, and we supply clubs, schools and commercial gyms across the UK with all three alongside the rest of our gym equipment and coaching aids. Call 01708 320320 (option 3) for a club quote if you are ordering several units, and tell us the size of your training space so we can suggest a timer with the right display size and volume.
Frequently asked questions
How long is a boxing round on a gym timer?
Set the work period to three minutes for senior boxing and two minutes for most junior and novice bouts, with a one-minute rest between rounds. Most digital ring timers also let you programme a ten-second warning so boxers know when to finish their combination.
Are Seca scales accurate enough for weigh-ins?
Yes. Seca scales are medical-grade and are widely used in clinics, which is why gyms and event organisers rely on them. Choose a column scale if you want the same format as an official weigh-in, or a flat digital scale if space and portability matter more.
Can I use an interval timer for HIIT and circuits?
Absolutely. Any boxing round timer with adjustable work and rest periods doubles as a HIIT or circuit timer. Set the work interval to 30 or 45 seconds and the rest to 15 seconds, and the bell keeps the whole class moving without a coach watching a stopwatch.
