Hayes Amateur Boxing Club was formed in 1948 by legendary trainer Dickie Gunn. From its formation it has had great success in competition. The pinnacle of which was Chris Finnegan winning the 1966 Amateur Boxing Association middleweight title and then going on to win the Olympic middleweight gold medal in 1968.

In recent years, Jake Callingham has been a two time National Schoolboy Finalist and Tri Nations gold medallist. Also, Louis Lye has been a two time gold medallist at the Haringey Box Cup.
